HOPI BLACK DYE SUNFLOWER
(Helianthus annuus macrocarpus)

These towering plants grow to be over 7 feet tall. The dark seeds make a deep purple dye and purple-brown ink with color tones varying when modifiers are added. Adding alum produces a gorgeous purple. Adding citric acid produces a bright magenta. As a lake, this turns greenish.
