My artistic process focuses on the use of natural materials, sustainably and often organically grown and harvested or responsibly foraged. These materials may be leftover food scraps, leaves, roots, plant fibers, flower petals, seeds, minerals, and more. After growing and collecting the materials, I prepare them for use in future projects. Some may be processed as lake pigments or evaporated inks while other materials may be spun into thread, wound into cordage, woven or used to create sculptural elements.

My artwork is both nature-inspired and naturally produced; it’s a reflection of our environment and a re-purposing of its elements. I enjoy the materials process just as much as creating a piece of work from the materials.
